We have been using two main websites and apps for Panther Pause - Calm and Insight Timer. CALM is both an app and a website for you to relax using meditations, nature sounds, and peaceful music. Teachers can get a free subscription for their classes of all the guided meditations or you can sign up for the free version which is still awesome. INSIGHT TIMER is both an app and a website as well. Insight Timer is the most popular free meditation app in the App Store and has a community of mindfulness practitioners for guided meditations. You can also create your own group within Insight Timer. When you are done with a meditation, the app lets you know how many others were meditating at the same time as you. We really enjoy that feature.

Explaining our project to Ms. Harrington. She told us she HAD to meet us!Leading the group through a body scan meditation.We ran the autopilot activity for all of our visitors from the Department of Education and the district administrators.We were honored to have made a connection with Ms. Harrington and appreciate her support!We read No Ordinary Apple and practiced mindful eating. We also went back outside to take a stress break with more chalk art!
Students and teachers joined us for a Panther Pause stress break with chalk. We spread positive messages and had a fantastic time. One of the students shouted, "This is so calming! We should do this all of the time!"
NuYu members had a great time, too! Don't forget to Take A Panther Pause! We helped dozens of students create bullet journals for our Panther Pause for Mental Health Awareness Week today. Students learned the basics of designing their own journals and we shared out our journals as ways we deal with stress by focusing on gratitude.
Today we played "brain games" with students throughout the day and taught about how much of our lives are spent on autopilot. We are living on autopilot 46-51% of the time. NuYu wants to help everyone be present more often!
